Soon, Distant Thunder by John Young

As menacing thunderclouds retreat beyond the hills, a USAF F-100D readies for a practice bombing mission from Nellis Air Force Base to one of the nearby ranges. North American's Super Sabre, first of the Century Series fighters and the USAF's first true supersonic fighter, and began operational service in 1954. Progressing in models "A" through "D," the F-100 continued to fly through the late '60s and was used effectively in ground support and "Wild Weasel" roles during the Vietnam War. The single seat "Hun" was either loved or hated by pilots and was said to separate the men from the boys. John Young has created a beautiful image of the F-100 that will stir familiar memories for many.
