Spitfire On The Prowl

In the history of fighter aircraft perhaps no other plane has equaled the legendary status of the Supermarine Spitfire, which was flown by the Royal Air Force from the mid-1930's into the mid-1950's. This agile aircraft's finest hour came early in World War II during the Battle of Britain, when young RAF pilots flying Spitfires fought the German Luftwaffe for control of the skies over Britain. Spitfire on the Prowl is a classic portrait of the famous fighter over the White Cliffs of Dover.
