Bar Necessities
This is a painting depicting the Fw190 A-7 flown by Major Heinz Bar (pronounced bear) of the 5th Staffel, JG 1 in April 1944. At the end of the war, Bar had 220 victories to his credit. After surviving six years of combat and being shot down more than a dozen times, the likable Bar was killed while demonstrating a light plane in 1957.
