Surrender Flight by Hagel

August 19,1945, Japanese peace envoys are escorted to the island of le Shima by two B-25s of the 345th BG. Japan sent a delegation from Tokyo to meet with the staff of General MacArthur to work out all the details of Japan's surrender. This was the last truely notable air mission of WWII. An historical moment marking the first time Japanese and American aircraft flew in peace together. The print has been painstakingly researched to faithfully represent this historic flight. Each print in the edition is signed and numbered by the aviation artist Michael Hagel, countersigned by three of the original B-25 crew members ( Bob Cornwell, John Palansky, and Merl Wooden ).
