A Messerschmitt Bf 109-E7, yellow 4, patrols at height over North Africa. It is a credit to the ‘Emil’ that it faired as well as anything in the harsh operating conditions of Libya, and up until mid 1942, alongside the ‘Freda’, was the premier single engine fighter in the Mediterranean.
