Erich Sommer`s Arado AR-234B Blitz
 Barry Spicer’s latest work, in collaboration with Oberleutnant ERICH SOMMER depicts Erich’s faithful Arado with the twin 20mm MG-151 Magirusbombe gunpack as he flies over southern Germany in the company of the ubiquitous ME-262. Erich Sommer enjoys the distinction of being the first jet reconnaissance pilot, flying numerous missions over the Normandy Beaches and Cherbourg Peninsula shortly after the allied invasion. He later went on to command his own “Kommando Sommer” equipped with the AR-234B to cover the Italian Front. In this latest painting, Barry Spicer collaborated with Erich Sommer to produce a most atmospheric and beautiful, yet highly accurate work.
