Dies Irae - Day Of Judgement by Raymond Moats

The B-17G-80BO, 4338263, was named "Dies Irae" by its pilot, Lt. Mowers. The name is from a section in the score by composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Requiem in 'D' minor. The plane is depicted on Mission number 9, Cologne - despite taking enormous amounts of flak damage, the plane and it's crew were able to make it back to England safely.
