Dawn Of The Nighthawk by Matthew Waki

For nearly a decade the Lockheed F-117A stealth fighter remained shrouded in secrecy. It was not until the Fall of 1988 that the U.S. Air Force even admitted that such an aircraft existed. The effectiveness of the secrecy of the project has been called by some to be the most successful military program since the "Manhattan Project" to keep classified information from unauthorized personnel. The actual performance and capabilities of the F-117A are still classified but its effectiveness in its intended role has been proven without doubt during the Gulf War.
