Cuban Sightseeing Tour
On November 4, 1962, Col. Clyde B. East of the 20th Tactical Recon squadron, flew his RF-101 over Havana harbor on a "verification flight" to ensure that the promised removal of Soviet missiles was in fact taking place. Successful aerial reconnaissance coupled with brilliant statesmanship enabled the world to slowly return from the brink of nuclear war for the first time in history.
