Thunder In The Sky by Geoff Nutkins
Remembering the last days of the European air war. Pilots of Lieutenant Heinz Sachsenberg's Fw190 equipped "Sachsenberg Schwarm", freshly landed at Ainring airfield in central Austria, gaze towards the skies. A lone jet fighter of Generalleutnant Adolf Galland's Jagdverband (JV) 44, part of a larger formation led by Oberstleutnant Heinz Bar, passes overhead en route to nearby Salzburg- Maxglan following the units evacuation of Munich-Riem during late April 1945.
