Belle...Homeward Bound

Capt. Robert K. Morgan and his crew climb out over the English countryside and the 8th Air Force Base, Bovingdon, 9 June 1943. This time, having completed their 25th mission over enemy territory the previous month, Morgan and his men are heading the other way, northwest toward Scotland, then across the Atlantic Ocean for the United States... home!
Though a number of Army Air Force crews were in the process of completing 25 missions in mid-May 1943, when Morgan's crew finished their 25th trip on 17 May, they and their Belle were chosen as the focal point for a massive pro-motional campaign. As a result this single B-17 became one of the most famous aircraft of World War II.
Personally autographed by pilot Robert K. "Bob" Morgan.
